Lunch...Yum

I could not go back to school without a new lunch bag. At least that was my excuse for trying this pattern from "One Yard Wonders." I've learned that bias tape is not my friend, but we all have to start somewhere!

I made the flower from Sew Ritsy-Titzy's tutorial.  I found a whole bunch of other great flower tutorials here.

  1. This is SEW cute. I think you could easily sell these on etsy (are you allowed to if you use a book pattern?), but the question is, would it be worth your while? Miss you Vally.

  2. Thanks. I have my own patterns I could use for some bags. I'm just trying to work up the guts to do it! I miss you too! Love to all. xo

  4. Hi! I came across your blog while I was searching for help with thus lunch bag! I hope you don't mind me stalking you! I thought this bag was pretty easy to make until it came to adding the bias tape (the last step) I just can't get it to lay straight on the corners when I pivot it in the machine. Did you sew it all in one continuous stitch? Or did you back stitch, reposition, and start over? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  5. Heather-thanks for looking! I had SO much trouble with the bias tape around the corners. I am a novice sewer and did the best I could. There was a lot of adjusting going on when I hit the corners! I did work in one continuous stitch, but it's NOT my best work. (You can see my wobbly stitches) However, as my first attempt I don't think it's so bad. Next time I think the key will be to take it slow on the corners.I'm sorry I can't offer any more advice!
